Girona, a beautiful city carries the same name of a breathtaking province in the northeastern corner of Catalonia. If you want a real taste of Catalonia, then this province is for you. The weather is very mild with cold winters and hot summers. There are many things that can be seen in the capital city of Girona itself from the city walls and fortifications to the cathedral and the beautiful view on the Onyar river.
Venturing out a little, you will be welcomed by vast natural beauty in Besalú, Figueres, Roses and Cadaqués. It’s a nice drive across those beautiful towns ending on the Cap de Creus, Catalonia’s easternmost point and birth place of Salvador Dalí. You can also enjoy Dalí’s theatre and museum in Figueres if you are a fan of his art.
As always, I will leave the photos do the talking and I will go back to planning my return trip to Girona.
