Madeira is a Portuguese archipelago in the north Atlantic Ocean. It is a very popular resort visited by many tourists all year round. Thanks to its nature and weather, it is possible to enjoy this archipelago any time of the year. Not only is it famous for its Madeira wine, but also for the flowers, landscapes and the worlds largest new year’s fireworks show. The main town on the archipelago, Funchal, is considered the leading cruise liner docking port in Portugal. Thanks to tourism, wine production and embroidery artisans, Madeira is the second richest region in Portugal after Lisbon. For outdoor sport lovers, this is paradise on earth. With the right weather, the possibilities are endless. Since the island is covered in bananas, the locals have found many innovative ways in utilising bananas in everything. My personal favourite Madeiran dish is the black scabbardfish with banana which I would highly recommend for any fish lover.
