A visit to the capital of Poland might not seem exciting at first but can still hold a lot of history and surprises for you to experience. It has a mixed architectural style, like no other, that reflects the turbulent history of the city and country as whole. Probably the most dominant structure is the Palace of Culture and Science which was built as a gift from the Soviet Union to the people of Poland. It is considered to be the eighth tallest building in the EU and tallest in Poland itself. The historic centre of Warsaw itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and can be enjoyed on foot. A stroll across the centre reveals the inner beauty of this city with all the cafes and restaurants all around. The photos in this gallery show a glimpse of the city and end with a visit to the presidential palace, Pałac Prezydencki.
